I would love to know how to show and sort by custom fields that I have created. I have made a due date field where the user enters reverse date 20090617 for example. I would like to be able to sort by that field.

    Thanks

You need to add the columns to your bug display. Either do this in your user Options tab if you want it only for your account, or in the adminisrative settings page to do so globally. If you assign a non-zero value to its column placement, it will display on bug listings and you can sort by it.

Just to piggy back on this one since it is very close to what I am trying to do. I have added a custom field (all well and good) but I can't get it to appear in the list on the settings page so that I can display it on the listings. It shows up in the detail and behaves as expected. I must be doing something wrong!

Sorting by custom fields is actually a new feature that has yet to appear in a released version. You can find the patch for the feature, here: http://www.bluestatic.org/git/?p=Bugdar.git;a=commit;h=fe3922729b0cb4e59e838c5be01078b76f18509a />

    Hi.

First of all, with my first comment, i must congratulate you for the work you did on bugdar.

I'm running bugdar 1.2.4 and i'm trying to display my custom fields too and i have the same problem than ScruffyDuck. I can search on them, but they won't display.

I tried the link you gave but, i don't find the patch.

    What did i miss?
    Thanks.

Sorry. I changed source viewers and the URLs are slightly different. Try this: http://www.bluestatic.org/source/?a=commit&p=Bugdar&h=fe3922729b0cb4e59e838c5be01078b76f18509a

Don't be sorry, you're doing such a great job.
    But, it still "doesn't work".
I went to the link you gave me, and made the change you described (in fact definitions.php was already removed) thus, it concerned only the changes in class_short.php. I used the one in "Tree section" in order to be sure i did right.
I displayed Listing or search results and my custom columns still don't show.
If i have a look on the option panel, i can't set a number to the column to be displayed in the "Bug list columns" section.

Is there anything else i have to do?
Again, thanks for having a look in my case.

    Hugues
